WWW.NME.COM - Florence Welch reportedly sang her hit single ‘You’ve Got The Love’ on a packed tube carriage on her way home from a Kendrick Lamar gig in London this weekend.
The Florence And The Machine front woman was spotted at Lamar’s sold-out gig at the Hammersmith Apollo venue on Sunday (January 20) alongside friends including Felix White of The Maccabees. Having left the concert, Florence decided against going home in a private car and instead travelled home by public transport via the nearby Underground station. “Florence jumped on the Tube after Kendrick and, as you can imagine, every carriage was packed,” a source told The Sun.
“At first she tried to keep a low profile but it didn’t take long for a few people to recognise her. They started singing ‘You Got The Love’ but instead of bailing at the next stop, Florence joined in. It was brilliant. She finished ‘You’ve Got The Love’ before changing to the Kendrick Lamar song ‘Backseat Freestyle’.”
Lamar was in London to perform his first headline show in the capital since releasing his critically acclaimed ‘Good Kid, m.A.A.d City’ album in 2012. Other famous faces from the world of music at the gig included Tinie Tempah and Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud.
Florence is no stranger to the world of hip-hop having performed live with Drake and toured with The Weeknd. The London born singer also contributes vocals on the new album from A$AP Rocky, appearing on deluxe edition track ‘I Come Apart’.
The singer most recently revealed she is planning to take a break from music in 2013 and could begin work on writing a musical.

There are things I struggle to talk about face-to-face. I’m not a confrontational person. But the great thing about music is that it allows you to do talk about those things to a huge group of people. — Florence Welch
