I updated the gallery with some additional Coachella Festival photos. There’s also an interview that Flo did with Vogue, which you can read below and after the cut!

Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine is one of Coachella’s biggest headliners this year, but the first time the British songstress went to the festival was as a fan. “I was invited to stay at a friend’s condo a few years ago and I thought that condo meant pool house,” said Welch before her performance Sunday night. “But it was literally the tiniest apartment and seventeen of us were in there. There were people sleeping in the kitchen cupboards and side tables. I ended up sleeping on the balcony.” These days, Welch stays at a nearby luxury resort during the festival, although she still makes time to catch a show or two despite her hectic schedule. Just hours before her set on Sunday, she was gearing up to watch new R&B singer The Weeknd. “Back home, festivals always feel like an endurance test, it’s about surviving the rain and the mud,” she said. “Every time I come here I just remember to appreciate how laid-back and beautiful the setting is.” Inside her trailer—parked next to fellow stellar musicians Dr. Dre and French electro outfit Justice—Florence revealed the contents of her Coachella emergency kit, the new fashion label she is currently obsessing over, and what songs she has on her pre-show playlist right now.
Latest fashion obsession: “I saw these printed dresses in a magazine and became obsessed with them, then tracked down the label, Vilshenko, online. They make the most amazing dresses with vintage-inspired prints and a modern cut. I’m such an über-fan.”
Her Coachella emergency kit: “I keep my emergency Coachella kit inside this Dolce & Gabbana purse. I’ve got mints, headphones, Advil, saline nasal spray to keep my sinuses from drying up in the desert—it would ruin my voice! I’ve recently gone into a lady phase, so I’m obsessed with having lady nails, and that means keeping a bottle of nail glue in here at all times. You can’t do anything with these on, so picking up my tour bags is impossible, but they are great for the stage. I’m allergic to the whole of California, so I have Claritin. I also have this $2 lipstick that I picked up at a gas station and has become my new favorite.”
What’s on her playlist: “I like to listen to music to settle my nerves before a show, so I’m looking forward to seeing The Weeknd perform before I go on. I’ve been listening to a lot of Drake recently too. I went to see him play at the O2 Arena in London and he gave me two shout-outs. I was so excited!”
What she’s wearing onstage: “A custom designed Hannah Marshall catsuit covered with Swarovski crystals. It took quite a few fittings with Hannah, and I think people were probably awake for days sewing on these crystals. I wore a Alex Noble catsuit for my British and European tours, so the catsuit has crept back into my wardrobe. I wanted something really special for Coachella. Hannah sent over the most beautiful water-themed mood board before she finished the design—it was all about capturing movement. There’s a huge floating cape attached to the catsuit that is gorgeous and floaty.”
